Small Group/Sermon Questions for “In Christ We Have… Mission.”
  1. When you hear the word “Mission,” what is the first thing that comes to mind?
  2. Read 2 Corinthians 5:17. What do you think Paul means by “new creation”? How is this more than just “self-improvement” or becoming a “better version” of ourselves?
  3. Vs. 18-19 – “All this is from God.” Mission isn’t something we initiate, it’s something God has accomplished that we are invited into. How does this inform your perspective on Missions?
  4. The Message (LOGOS) of Reconciliation involves both verbal proclamation, and is also something that we physically embody. What is Paul’s example of the message itself in the text (verbal proclamation)? What might it look like to embody the message?
  5. Paul writes “We appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.” What might he mean by that?
  6. Reflect on the topic of this sermon series over the past week (In Christ). If you are in Christ, you are united with Him – sharing in His status and benefits. But are you also united with him in goals and purpose? What steps can you take this week to participate with Him in His Mission?
